Plus+ by Bethany Rutter My rating: 4 of 5 stars *I have received this book from NetGalley* It's more of a tabletop book, which you can look at from time to time. The general idea of the book is to show that no matter the size, you should be body positive. The message of the book is to love yourself, love your body and be true to yourself. Being not only plus-size but also PwD can be challenging in a matter of finding clothes that fit, look good and are comfy. Ladies presented in the book are happy with themselves and you can definitely see it. Some of them are stunning, some gorgeous, all are amazing. Author of the book is absolutely right, that buying big sizes is possible almost only in online shops. Highstreet shops barely ever offer big sizes and more exclusive shops don't even bother to sell plus sizes. The Atlas of Disease:Mapping deadly epidemics and contagion from the plague to the zika virus by Sandra Hempel My rating: 5 of 5 stars *I have received this book from NetGalley, but didn't finish in time, so I purchased it on Amazon* I'm a fan of various medical stories, the more real they are, the better. Non-fiction accounts of doctors or researchers are the best, but books about diseases are also amazing. This book is great in telling the stories of the various contagious diseases and how they spread, where do they come from and so on. Additional maps help visualize everything. Illustrations of awareness posters and art about given diseases were very interesting, too. I've learned a few things from this book and I think it's a great book to come back to from time to time, just for a short reminder of basic facts. Guinea Pigs by Tonino Benacquista My rating: 4 of 5 stars * I have received this novel thanks to NetGalley and the publisher* It's an excellent read! It starts off slowly, with three people, who have a rather lame life. They have nothing to lose, so they decide to apply for new drug tests. They are promised there won't be any side effects, but things turn out differently. I won't tell you how, so you will need to see (read) for yourself. It surely is a story about the modern world, about how dependant we are no our magic pills and how far can we go for them. I'd love to read more of this story, some follow up would be amazing. Pumpkinhead by Cullen Bunn My rating: 3 of 5 stars *I could read this book thanks to NetGalley* It's a story of people's demons, ones that hunt them. Literally. There are witches and demons and brave sheriff in this story. There's a good drawing. The story itself is pretty good, can get creepy at times. My only issue is that the Pumpkinhead looks a lot like The Alien. Otherwise - I wouldn't mind reading some more of demon stories. It felt like coming back to Sleepy Hollow :) View all my reviews

Pill by Robert Bennett My rating: 5 of 5 stars *I have received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and the publisher" I've requested this book, thinking that it's about how pills were created. It has turned out that it's something else, something so much better! The author tells the story of the Pill, the One that we pop every day (at least once), to be happy. Or chill, or fall asleep, or whatever. It's our new religion - psychopharmacology. Robert Bennett has a bit odd way of telling this story - he's showing us how the meds work through a series of examples: literature and movies mostly. It can be slightly annoying at times, but overall it makes the book easier to read. I truly enjoyed how the author is telling the story and how he's asking the questions about our reality/society. The Invisible War: A Tale on Two Scales by Ailsa Wild My rating: 4 of 5 stars *I've had a pleasure to read this book thanks to NetGalley* This book, ladies and gents, is a really good one! Well, it's a graphic novel, actually. Anyway, it tells an amazing story of a young nurse during a WWI, who is fighting on two fronts - one is helping soldiers, who got hurt and the other is a fight with her organism. This novel shows the internal fight of the organism in a truly amazing way. I love how it is both easy to understand and very educational. I love the setting and the black and white drawings. Żniwa zła by Robert Galbraith My rating: 4 of 5 stars Następna świetna historia o moim ulubionym detektywie. Zabierałam się do tej książki, jak pies do jeża, bo odrobinę odstraszał mnie opis, mówiący, że zagłębimy się tym razem w przeszłość Cormorana i Robin. Wydawało mi się, że będzie nudno, ale myliłam się. Faktycznie było co nieco wycieczek w przeszłość, ale były tak dobrze wplecione w resztę historii, że tylko pomagały, a nie szkodziły. Cała opowieść, śledztwo i poboczne wątki były, jak zwykle lekko zakręcone. Przyznam, że podejrzewałam kto zabił, ale i tak finał mnie zaskoczył. Homer and the Holiday Miracle: A True Story by Gwen Cooper My rating: 3 of 5 stars It's a cute little story. A bit too short for me, but made me want to read some more about the author's life with cats. Especially as special ones as Homer. The Electrifying Story of Multiple Sclerosis by Vanita Oelschlager My rating: 4 of 5 stars *Got this book courtesy of NetGalley* It's a good little book to learn basics about what is MS. I'm not sure who is it aimed for, as at times it feels like the author is talking to a child. As I've said - it gives you basic information, but it's enough to start from. The book is a bit repetitive, but maybe that's the point - to make readers remember. I very much liked section, where the book suggests ways in which you can try feeling like a person with MS. This Is a Whoopsie! by Andrew Cangelose My rating: 5 of 5 stars *Got this book courtesy of NetGalley* That's for sure the shortest book I've read this year, but it's also most adorable one. Here's Whoopsie, a young moose, who isn't great at it. He falls a lot, can't jump and is smaller than other moose. He also has a best friend - a cute little bird. Alt-Life by Thomas Cadène My rating: 4 of 5 stars *Got this book courtesy of NetGalley* It's surely something else. On the one hand, it's pretty messed up, but on the other - very interesting to read and look at. Truth is the story is pretty simple - two young people entering a virtual reality world, to see how it's going to work for the rest of humanity, which will follow suit. They explore this new world of possibilities, which are endless, as it turns out. The only boundary is your imagination. Or so it seems. Perfect world is not so perfect after all... The drawings are pretty nice, I liked the colours, too. It is full of sex and sensuality, but the scenes aren't vulgar. I liked that. An intense story for sci-fi and thinking fans. Boni The Last Bite of Carrot by Ian Fortin My rating: 4 of 5 stars I've read this book thanks to NetGalley. Life is harsh, especially for Boni, who is a cute rabbit. It's a book with pretty simple pictures, but they show hilarious situations. I honestly laughed out loud several times and giggled through the rest of the book. Good stuff, I tell you. There were times when I've struggled to go on. It's a rather disturbing story, which proves that you can't always get what you want easily. Sendlerowa. W ukryciu by Anna Bikont My rating: 3 of 5 stars Mam bardz0 mieszane uczucia co do tej książki. Zajęła mi dużo czasu i cieszę się, że to już koniec, a jednocześnie tak mi jakoś nie bardzo. Z początku strasznie mnie denerwowała narracja autorki. Taka chaotyczna i poszarpana. Z czasem się trochę przyzwyczaiłam, ale nie do końca. Nie mam na myśli, że książka jest niezrozumiała, po prostu jest, wg mnie, rozbiegana myślowo, zbyt emocjonalna. Oceniłabym ją bardziej na 2,5* niż na 3, ale niech tam. Książkę przeczytałam, ale czy poznałam lepiej Irenę Sendlerową? Nie wiem. Jest to historia kobiety, która z całą pewnością zrobiła wiele, ale nie robiła tego sama. Jest to historia kobiety, która sama tworzyła historię i historie, nie zawsze prawdziwe. Pamięć to zabawny system, który czasem pamięta to czego nie było. Z całą pewności ta książka burzy, czy raczej przebudowuje, wyobrażenie jakie posiada o Sendlerowej przeciętny człowiek. Kroniki opętanej by Artur Nowak My rating: 4 of 5 stars Kroniki opętanej to jedna z tych książek, które pozostawiają w człowieku zadrę. Jest to powieść, ale napisana w stylu wspomnień. Czyta się to jednym tchem, jak dobry horror. Problem polega na tym, że mimo tego, że to fikcja cały czas ma się świadomość istnienia takich zbrodni. Czytając tą historię miałam cichą nadzieję na happy end. Nie do końca się go doczekałam, ale to nie istotne. Książka pozostawia niesmak wobec ludzi. Niepojęte bestialstwo powodowane wiarą jest czymś dla mnie czymś, czego nie umiem i nie potrafię zrozumieć. Może jednak wierzę (czasem), że ludzie nie przekroczą pewnych granic. Kot, kotek, koteczek, kotełek... Wiadomo, kot to Pan i Władca, dla kota wszystko itd. Człowiek zasuwa dniami i nocami, żeby kotek miał dobrze :) Co kot lubi najbardziej? Otóż wybrzydzać. Tak, moi drodzy, nie ma lekko. Nie ma, że wrzucisz kotu w michę jakiś generyczny produkt z marketu koło domu. Nie ma, że podetkniesz pod nos jedzonko w cenie z kosmosu. Kocia chęć do spożywania zależy od bardzo wielu, nieznanych ludzkości, czynników. Któregoś dnia trafiłam na nowość, a że nowości lubię, pomyślałam, że można spróbować. Ową nowością była karma dla kota Purina Cat Chow. Poczytałam trochę co w niej siedzi, wydała mi się w porządku, więc wzięłam dwa dostępne rodzaje karm suchej - dla kotów sterylizowanych i opcja 3w1 - na kłaczki, zęby i drogi moczowe. Do tego trochę saszetek z mokrą karmą.  Nieco niepewnie nałożyłam karmy z saszety do michy i... Cyryl oszalał! Ja wiem, że on kocha jeść, ale nigdy nie widziałam, żeby w tak ekspresowym tempie wciągnął jakiekolwiek...

Przyznam Wam się do czegoś - spodobał mi się film. Co więcej, film ze stajni DC. Jak żyć? Ja, samozwańcza Marvel Girl, a tu coś takiego! Fakt, będąc dziecięciem, lubiłam Batmana. Wtedy jeszcze nie wiedziałam co to DC i Marvel, a film był filmem, a nie całym uniwersum.  Tydzień temu obejrzałam Suicide Squad i się zawiodłam. Serio, gdyby nie Will Smith i Joel Kinnaman, to nie dałabym rady. Dlatego teraz podchodziłam do kolejnego filmu z tego uniwersum jak pies do jeża. Właściwie to nawet chciałam, żeby mi się ten film nie spodobał. Nie wyszło. Film mi się całkiem podobał. Lubię takie mroczne klimaty, walka charakterów i świr do kompletu.  Nie jest to dzieło wybitne, ale jest ok i te 2,5h mijają w miarę szybko. Początki są trudne, jak zwykle. Jak to się mówi? A nie wiem, ale koniec końców chłopaki się dogadały. W czasie oglądania, naszło mnie kilka refleksji. Na przykład: Batman wygląda jak Transformers, wdzianko Supermana wygląda jak wydziergane z cekinów, a największe ...

Są takie dni, kiedy nie pomaga nic oprócz drobnej słodkiej przyjemności. Właśnie takiego dnia, trafiłam na nową kampanię Rekomenduj.to  i nie mogłam się oprzeć, żeby spróbować dostać się do kampanii. Jak wiadomo, od chwili zgłoszenia się do kampanii do informacji o zakwalifikowaniu się (ewentualnym), mija sporo czasu. Przyznam, że zdążyłam zapomnieć o moim zgłoszeniu, więc mail z informacją, że zostałam wybrana na ambasadorkę w nowej kampanii Werther's Original, był wyjątkowo miłą niespodzianką. Muszę przyznać, że jestem szczęściarą, ponieważ już drugi raz zostałam Ambasadorką tych fantastycznych cukierków. Jakieś dwa lata temu testowałam karmelki z nadzieniem śmietankowym, które były fantastyczne. Tym razem w moje ręce trafiła nowość - Soft Eclairs.
